My final cover for Deb.E Howell's Deadly touch series; Magician's Touch.

Working with Deb over the years has been a pleasure and a really fun collaborative process. I wanted to give her series the send of it deserved and create something special for the final cover. I'm really pleased with how it turned out and had a lot of fun working on it. I really tried to push the themes of the book into the cover. Life from death,nature,blood these are all very present in the book. I tried to carry the theme of blood and life into design of the environment, with the tree's blood red leaves and vein like limbs.

I wanted her to feel strong and powerful as she is the "healer" of the books and the life bringer, whereas he is the battle worn warrior dealing with some heavy issues in the final book. Key events happen around the barn in the background and the tree is essential too. Overall I feel like the cover brings all the themes of the book together whilst hinting at the plot of the final book, which Is exactly what I was aiming for!
